History and monuments

The town of Šparadići got its name from the name of the Šparada family, which has lived here for more than four centuries. There is a rich and varied offer for lovers of history and monuments in the vicinity. The traces found testify to the original inhabitants of Illyrian, Greek and Croatian origin.

In the vicinity of Šparadiči (10 km) lies Primošten, which was attacked and completely destroyed many times in the past, a town that is today a popular pearl of the Adriatic. Here you can visit the church of St. Jurja built on the seashore in 1485, rebuilt and extended several times. An altar and an old organ can be seen in the church. An icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a silver frame is kept here. Church of St. Roka - the church itself is a historically valuable monument, where you can find a monument to a killed priest whose name was Ivan Šarič.

Another center of history is Šibenik, a town 15 km from Šparadič. This beautiful historic town has preserved its ancient character and part of the fortifications. The three forts on the hill above the town are especially important. The lowest is the fortress of St. Michal (fort of St. Mihovil), which was previously referred to as the fortress of St. Anny (tvrdjava sveta Ana). It is situated on the site of Krešimir's former residence - the castle. Above is the fortress of Šubičevac and at the highest point (125 m above sea level) the fortress of St. John (tvrdjava sveti Ivan). Of all of them, the view of the city of Šibenik and the island labyrinth is unique and breathtaking. You can also visit the cathedral of St. Jakub (Sveti Jakov), which is one of the most valuable monuments in all of Croatia. Opposite the cathedral is the Renaissance town hall from the 16th century, another valuable building. If you are a history lover, you will certainly not be bored in the surroundings of the town of Šparadiči.

Swimming and beach Sparadici

Sandy but also beautiful natural beaches are the main attraction of this resort. Some apartments have an artificial concrete slab. The inhabitants of the city of Šibenik love the crystal clear sea and the romantic corners of deserted bays, which is why they seek out the beaches of the town of Šparadiči. These are lined with pine forest and provide pleasant shade and refreshment.

Sports offer

There is a diving school in the place, which offers lovers of this water sport the diversity of the underwater world. The nearby resorts of Primošten and Vodice offer other sports and cultural and entertainment activities.

Cultural events and evening life

In the center you will find Dalmatian restaurants and taverns, a pastry shop.

At the turn of June and July, we recommend visiting the International Children's Festival in Šibenik - fifteen minutes by car. The whole city is alive with this festival, which is full of street performers and is one big big stage especially for children.

In the second half of August, traditional evenings full of musical performances (Klapi) are held here, which preserve tradition and are focused on singing songs from the Šibenik region.

Here, in the resorts of Primošten or Vodice, you can also visit one of the famous discotheques.
