Island Ciovo

The island of Ciovo is located near to the mainland and it is connected by a bridge in the old town of Trogir. Island Ciovo is a part of Trogir, so it is offered a multitude of possibilities for relaxation, recreation and swimming, as well as numerous historical monuments. For the island are typical Mediterranean vegetation, archipelago of small picturesque islands and beautiful beaches in hidden bays. The location of Čiovo in the heart of Dalmatia makes it an ideal starting point for some day trips to nearby islands (Hvar, Brac, Korcula and Vis) and famous towns and destinations (in distance up to 60 km for example Trogir, Split, Sibenik, Skradin, Zadar or waterfalls Krka).
The total area of ​​the island is 28.8 km and there are several villages: Čiovo, Arbanija, Žedno, Okrug Gornji and Donji and settlements Slatine and Prizidnica. The entire island is a part of Trogir and has about 6000 inhabitants.
On the island of Ciovo are no rivers, it has to be supplied by water from the mainland. They are produced for example almond, grape vines, olive and fig trees.
