Zadar

Croatia, Northern Dalmatia

Zadar, also called "Little Croatian Rome", is surrounded by 5 national parks. These are: Paklenica, Kornati (Kornati), Plitvice Lakes (Plitvice Lakes), Krka River Falls (Krka Falls) and northern Velebit (northern Velebit). It takes one or two hours by car or boat to travel from Zadar, as well as from other resorts in the Zadar region to all the mentioned national parks.

In Zadar you will be greeted by hospitable people, with whom you can have a glass of Zadar's original Maraskino leaves or talk about basketball, because the sport has made the city famous. Zadar also boasts a wealth of monuments. It is the first city in Croatia to have a university in 1396. It was founded by the Dominicans in the area of the monastery of St. Dominica.
