Trpanj
Croatia, Southern Dalmatia
Trpanj is a small coastal town located on the northwest side of the Peljesac peninsula, with about 700 inhabitants.
The pebbly coast and the crystal clear sea are the main temptations of suffering.
From the village there is an asphalt link for the main Peljesac road, which connects it to the western and eastern part of the peninsula - to Orebic 11 km.
In the past, Trpanj was the main port on the peninsula. Now here goes the ferry from Ploce to the mainland.

History and monuments
Already from prehistoric times, there are the first finds of settlement on the banks and hill of Trpanje, as fragments of prehistoric ceramics and characteristic walls - landmarks on the slopes of hill Gradina and St. A year. In the past, the Neretvanski Kanal was a busy trade route and although the area was full of political conflicts, trade never stopped here. Ships from Greece carried various fragrant essences or amphorae filled with wine to Corinth.
