Novi Vinodolski is a nice town on the banks of the Velebit channel in the southeastern part of the valley Vinodol. It consists of old part at the hill and the new part at the sea with a coastal promenade, tourist facilities and a large number of tourist hostels. The city has a long tradition of tourism and a rich cultural history. The small town is located 9 km from the Crikvenica. The original settlement was situated on a hill above the contemporary main road.
Novi Vinodolski is often the starting point for boats which was brough by car. Boats can be mounted at the pier wit depth of about 3 m. There is also possible to anchor toward the port in the southern part of the port. The port is not entirely protected for the storm and north-west winds. When blows the wind bora and southerly winds the sea level can become unusually quiet. Amenities in port include a lift and starting ramp.

History and monuments
První zmínky o osadě jako politickém centru knížectví Vinodol pocházejí z r. 1288, kdy ve frankopanském zámku fungoval slavný Vinodolský řád, první slovanský zákoník a důležitá památka chorvatského obecného práva. Bylo to popsáno v glagolitických skriptech. V r. 1988 byl tomuto dokumentu postaven na centrálním náměstí památník. Než byl postaven přístav v r. 1868, týkala se ekonomická aktivita převážně vnitrozemí. Opevnění z 13. století s kostelem je historickým jádrem dnešního města. V obci se nachází kostel sv. Filip a Jakuba (Sveti Filip i Jakov), průběhu staletí několikrát přestavovaný, v současné podobě ze začátku 20. stol.

Swimming and beach Novi Vinodolski
Novi Vinodolski which is in place shortly Novi has very good conditions for swimming and bathing. There is plenty of pine trees. The town has a very nicely landscaped beach in the bay Lisanj, there is sand, small pebbles, pine forest, sometimes gradual entry to the sea.
