Vir is located in the sea Virsko more, in the northwestern part of Dalmatia. From the ancient town of Zadar is located about 28 km. The Vir is linked to the mainland by a bridge. Island Vir (aprox. 23 km ²) is a favorite destination for many tourists for its beautiful sandy and pebbly beaches, quiet deserted coves and for almost 300 sunny days a year. In the near vicinity are several national parks - Paklenica, Krka and Kornati National Park.
