Čaklje - Podgora

The small settlement Čaklje is a part of the holiday town Podgora, which lies in the southern part of Central Dalmatia. This area is very popular thanks to the amazing mountain Biokovo with the highest mountain of St. George (sv. Jure) and with mediterranean flora and fauna. Čaklje is a picturesque resort with several restaurants lined with palm grove, and is suitable for families with young children and for those who do not seek night hustle of big resort.

On the village periphery to the southeast lies the modern church from 1962. Historical monuments are located in Horní Podgora and in settlements Roščići and Marinoviće where they are preserved towers, serving as a defense against the Turkish invasions in the 17th and 18 century.

Beautiful pebble beaches have slow access to the sea, so they are suitable for families with young children. The Apartment buildings border the entire coast, the beaches are separated only by narrow way. Along this route grow lemon, orange and exotic trees that create true Mediterranean atmosphere.

Ideal conditions for water sports are offered in nearby Podgora, where you can windsurf, sail, water ski and dive. For lovers of active sport is beach volleyball in Čakle.

The beach promenade from Podgora to Čakle is one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia. Along it you will find plenty of bars, pubs with seating by the sea, gift shops. In the center Čakle are several smaller restaurants for a pleasant stay. This small resort is recommended for a quiet holiday time.
